Embracing a Vision for Timeless Luxury

MN Custom Homes is rooted in craftsmanship and driven by innovation

MN Custom Homes was founded in 2011 by Shaun McFadden and Joe Naeseth, childhood friends from Bellevue, Wash. McFadden brings a strong business and finance background from working in multi-family development and general contracting. Naeseth, on the other hand, has deep construction expertise, spending over a decade at a prominent Eastside builder, managing many projects and learning advanced building practices. Together, they share the vision of creating exceptional, luxury homes in coveted Eastside neighborhoods.

Building Philosophy

Their philosophy is rooted in building homes that feel timeless yet bold, with attention to detail from foundation to finish. MN Custom Homes emphasizes quality craftsmanship, innovation and luxury.

“We pride ourselves on high-quality materials, smart home integration and transparency, aiming to deliver a customer experience that feels personalized and service-driven throughout every step of the process,” said Jackie Lang, Director of Marketing at MN Custom Homes. “We are vertically integrated, with our own in-house interior designers and architects; we believe this gives us an advantage in multiple ways.”

Building Involvement

MN Custom Homes has grown from a small, two-person building company to a leading luxury-builder on Seattle’s Eastside. They believe in giving back to the community at Jubilee Reach, a local non-profit helping at-risk and low-income families. They also help Imagine Housing by donating time, funds and even entire home-build profits. MN Custom donates 100% of profits from designated “Jubilee REACH homes” to support local families and build a Jubilee Reach home every other year.

The team also contributes to four community service days each summer via Jubilee Reach, where employees help with home repairs, fencing, painting and yard work for needy families in the area. “This commitment inspires us to build not just structures, but stronger communities; we see homebuilding as a way to contribute meaningfully beyond profit,” said Jackie Lang, Director of Marketing at MN Custom Homes.

Sustainable Features

Sustainability is a core part of MN Custom Homes’ building philosophy through its MN cares eco-friendly approach, which emphasizes energy-efficient construction, low-VOC materials and smart home features. The homes often include solar panels, EV charging stations, high-performance insulation and water-conscious landscaping with native plants. The company is also committed to responsible waste management, recycling nearly all construction and demolition materials, such as drywall, concrete, wood and metals, through partnerships with local recyclers to keep them out of landfills and give them new life.

As a luxury homebuilder, MN Custom Homes benefits from a vertically integrated team where architects, interior designers and purchasing professionals work in-house and collaborate from the start. This unified approach streamlines the process, ensures thoughtful design execution and helps deliver the high level of quality and style for their homes.

Unique Home Features

With these qualities in mind, the Yarrow Point house, in Yarrow Point, Wash, incorporates several energy-efficient and green features, including rooftop solar panels, an electric vehicle charger in the garage and wiring that allows for a future battery or generator. High-performance insulation and energy-efficient windows were used to improve comfort and reduce energy use. The residence sits on a 18,747-square-foot lot and includes nearly 6,992 sq. ft. of living space, offering both generous scale and privacy.

The exterior stands out with a rooftop deck featuring a fireplace and sweeping mountain and lake views, a striking façade with floor-to-ceiling windows and oversized entry doors and a covered back patio equipped with heaters, a built-in barbecue, television and ample seating. Inside, the home showcases distinctive design elements such as a floating glass staircase with integrated lighting and a chef’s kitchen featuring a gold hood, waterfall island and warming drawer. The primary suite is designed as a private retreat, complete with an entry vestibule, fireplace, five-piece en-suite bath with steam shower, a spacious walk-in closet with a safe and large windows overlooking Lake Washington.

Recognition

MN Custom Homes has been awarded the Neighborhood Champion award by the Puget Sound Business Journal as part of their corporate citizenship recognition and has won the Excellence in Well-being Award from Puget Sound Business Journal, which reflects their focus on their employees and the wellness programs they offer. Owning their flare, they have also been named among Washington’s Top 10 Workplaces, showing growth in their internal culture and employee development.

Altogether, MN Custom Homes’ continued growth, award-winning culture, commitment to sustainability and community-focused mission underscore their success as a leading and ever-evolving luxury homebuilder on Seattle’s Eastside.
